1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how GymMate handles information when you use the native iOS, watchOS, widget, and related app experiences. GymMate is a training companion for planning workouts, logging exercise performance, tracking progress, managing reminders, using Apple Watch workouts, and reviewing training history.
GymMate is developed and maintained by Nacho MartÃnez, operating under the Sizle Digital Product Studio brand.
2. Information You Add or Create
GymMate stores the following information when you choose to add or create it: account email, display name, authentication provider, height, body weight entries, target weight, training goals, experience level, available training days, training programs, training days, exercises, exercise targets, warm-ups, sets, reps, weights used, RPE or RIR values where entered, skipped or completed sets, rest settings, workout dates, workout duration, notes, achievements, streaks, statistics, onboarding progress, guided tour status, notification preferences, app settings, and exported files.
Some of this information may be health or fitness-related because it describes your workouts, physical metrics, training habits, and progress. You should avoid adding information that you do not want stored or processed by the app.
3. Information Processed by Optional Features
GymMate may process the following information only when you enable or use the related feature: Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, Apple Health, Apple Watch workouts, push notifications, local notifications, widgets, Live Activities, App Shortcuts, AI-assisted summaries or suggestions, data export, account deletion, support requests, device configuration, app version, locale, timezone, and limited technical diagnostics.
If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide GymMate with your name, email address, private relay email address, and provider identifier depending on your Apple ID choices. If you use Google sign-in, Google may provide account identifiers and profile information needed to sign in. This information is used to create or access your GymMate account and provide account-related functionality.
4. Local Storage, Sync, and Account Data
The native iOS app stores app data locally on your device using a local database and Apple platform storage. Local storage supports fast access, offline-first workflows, widgets, Watch features, Live Activities, and App Shortcuts. Authentication session data is stored using the iOS Keychain.
Account-backed training data is stored and synced with Supabase so your account, programs, workout logs, body weight entries, achievements, notification settings, push notification records, and related records can be available across sessions and supported devices. Training changes made offline may be queued locally and synced when connectivity returns.
GymMate uses Supabase Edge Functions for account data export and account deletion. Deleting the app may remove local app data from your device, but it may not automatically delete account-backed records, provider-side records, exported files, or copies you saved elsewhere.
5. Exports and Backups
Exported files may include account records, training programs, exercise details, workout history, body metrics, notes, achievements, notification settings, and other account-related records. Anyone with access to an exported file may be able to view the information contained in it. Keep exported files in a safe location and avoid sharing them with people you do not trust.
Local app databases may be excluded from iCloud device backups where the app configuration does so to avoid duplicate sync or HealthKit write issues. This does not replace the need to keep any exported files secure.
6. Apple Health, Apple Watch, and Fitness Data
If you use Apple Health or Apple Watch features and grant permission, GymMate may read your last body weight and heart rate during workouts to refine workout calculations and display training information. Apple Watch features may display live heart rate and active energy during a workout.
When you allow it, GymMate may write workouts, active energy, and basal energy to Apple Health so completed workouts can appear in Apple Health and Apple Fitness. GymMate uses a minimal HealthKit payload for Health writes, such as session identifier, workout time window, duration, volume, set count, and training goal where needed.
Apple Health access is controlled by iOS and watchOS permission settings. You can deny or revoke Health access and continue using GymMate, although Apple Health or Apple Watch features may be limited. GymMate does not use Apple Health data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
7. AI-Assisted Features
GymMate may offer AI-assisted workout summaries, weekly insights, program suggestions, and coaching explanations. In the native iOS app, these features use Apple Foundation Models where available and run on device. Availability depends on your device, operating system version, Apple Intelligence settings, model availability, and Low Power Mode.
AI-assisted features may process workout summaries, recent training history, exercise catalog data, program goals, difficulty preferences, and progression decisions to generate helpful text or suggestions. The native iOS app configuration covered by this policy does not currently send these AI prompts to a third-party AI provider.
AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your goals or health status. You should review any AI-generated suggestion before using it.
8. Notifications, Widgets, Live Activities, and Shortcuts
If you enable notifications, GymMate may process notification preferences, reminder categories, quiet hours, frequency limits, locale, timezone, APNs device tokens, delivery-related metadata, notification identifiers, categories, and deep links needed to schedule, deliver, cancel, or route notifications.
Widgets, Live Activities, Apple Watch, and App Shortcuts may display limited training data such as next workout, streak, last session, workout progress, or weekly volume on system surfaces. These features depend on Apple platform permissions, shared app storage, and your device settings.
9. How We Use Information
GymMate uses information to create and manage your account, authenticate sign-in, save workout programs, log training sessions, calculate progress, show charts and summaries, support offline sync, generate achievements, send reminders you enable, power widgets and Watch features, export your data, process account deletion, provide support, protect the service, and maintain app reliability.
GymMate does not use third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell personal information. GymMate does not use your data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. The native iOS app configuration covered by this policy does not currently use a third-party analytics SDK. If analytics are enabled in the future, this policy and the App Store privacy details should be updated before or alongside that change.
10. Third-Party Services
GymMate uses Supabase for authentication, account-backed database storage, sync, Edge Functions, account deletion, data export, and push-notification-related records. GymMate may use Apple services such as Sign in with Apple, Apple Health, Apple Watch, Foundation Models, Live Activities, widgets, App Shortcuts, share sheets, notifications, and App Store services where enabled by the operating system.
GymMate may use Google sign-in if you choose that sign-in method. Your use of Apple or Google account features is also subject to those providers' own settings and policies.
11. Purchases and Subscriptions
GymMate does not receive full payment card details. The native iOS app code reviewed for this update does not currently show an active StoreKit purchase or subscription flow. If paid plans, in-app purchases, or subscriptions are offered in the future, the specific features, price, billing period, renewal terms, and cancellation information will be shown before purchase. Apple-billed purchases, if offered, are processed through Apple's App Store.
12. Data Retention
Local data remains on your device until you delete it, sign out where local cleanup occurs, uninstall the app, reset the device, or otherwise remove the data. Account-backed data is retained while your account is active unless deleted through account deletion, data management tools, or support requests, subject to verification, backups, security, and legal retention requirements.
13. User Rights and Privacy Requests
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain uses of personal information. GymMate provides in-app account deletion and data export functionality for account-backed data. You can also contact support for privacy requests using the email below.
14. Security
GymMate relies on Apple platform security, the iOS Keychain, local device protections, Supabase security controls, and provider security controls for account, sync, export, deletion, diagnostics, and notification services. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so you should protect your device, Apple ID, Google account where used, GymMate account, and any exported files.
15. Children's Privacy
GymMate is not directed to children under the age where parental consent is required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information through GymMate, contact us so we can review the request.
16. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
